MAISURU MAISIRI. (Sri Nalwadi Krishnarajendra Mahime) by T. Srinivasa Rangacharya.
(Sri Panchacharya Electric Press, Mysore, 1933).
One cannot think of a better introduction for this work than to point out that an authority so great as Mahamahopadhyaya Arthasastra Visarada Dr R. Shamasastry, B. A., Ph. D, M. R. A. S., has brought the learned author, Pandit Srinivasarangacharya to the notice of the literary Public of Southern India as a distinguished Sanskrit and Kannada scholar. Further, one no less than the famous and highly esteemed poet of Mysore, Rajakavi-vibhushana H. Lingaraja Urs has also set his seal of appreciation on the author's poetic talent. I shall, therefore, rest satisfied with a few observations on the poem before me.
As the title "Mysore Maisiri or Nalvadi Sri Krishna Rajendra Wodeyara Mahime" clearly indicates, the work is a description in verse of the present prosperity of Mysore and of the greatness of the personality as well as the reign of the ruling sovereign.
