Maisuru Maisiri is a poetical work, composed in homely Halagannada verses about 781 in number, and descriptive of Mysore, its scenery, its districts, its rivers, tanks, and riverdams, its Educational institutions, its supply of water and Electric light and power, the Palace and other public buildings, the Chamundi Hill and its temple and roads lighted with electric lights, the genealogy of the Royal family and its history in brief, the character and reign of H. H. Krishnaraja Wodeyar Bahadur the 4th, and the firm resolve of His Highness to improve the social, moral, economical and educaitonal advancement of the people. It is in short a poetical history of Mysore and its Rulers. The verses are dignified and free from all errors. – Arthashastra Visharada Mahamahopadhyaya Dr. R. Shamasastry
